dirndl + bua was founded in 1994 by Thomas Huber and Jo Gehringer in St. Georgen im Attergau. The Salzkammergut brand combines traditional shoemaking with modern design and everyday comfort.

The range includes traditional Haferl shoes, traditional-style court shoes, ballet flats, trainers, ankle boots and sheepskin-lined winter shoes for women, men and children.

The brand uses high-quality leather from Italian tanneries, most of them family-owned. An artisanal colour-washing process creates the characteristic worn-in look, giving each pair its own appearance.

Production takes place at its own facility in Hungary and in small workshops in Italy. dirndl + bua stands for authentic traditional footwear, quality materials and modern shoe design with regional roots.
